FileMaker Pro 9 - Basics
Basics in FileMaker Pro 9 introduces you to both the general concepts behind a relational database and how to implement those characteristics in FileMaker Pro.Working knowledge of FileMaker Pro is NOT required, but working knowledge of OS 10 (ideally 10.4) definitely IS required.
Upon completion of this single three hour class, the class will have learned how to make a basic database and manipulate how a prefabricated database works.
Mac OS X Basics
This course is designed to introduce Apple's state of the art Macintosh operating system to new users of the Macintosh and to Mac OS 9 veterans with special emphasis on the MacOS 10 file system and the System Preferences as they impact on the user's daily experience with their computers.Mac OS X Intermediate
This course is designed to explore more deeply Apple's state of the art Macintosh operating system to new users of the Macintosh and to Mac OS 9 veterans with special emphasis on making the most of the Mac OS 10 file system and the supplied Apple applicatons as they impact on the user's daily experience with their computers and their strategic planning. The Intermediate course builds on our Macintosh OS 10 Basics Class and users should be familiar with the OS interface and simple settings.Individual Tutorials

This two-day hands-on course introduces students to the primary feature set and basic interface of Final Cut Pro. In this course you learn to perform basic editing functions while familiarizing yourself with the user interface. Topics include basic setup, adjusting and customizing preferences and settings, capturing video and audio, various editing and trimming techniques, ripple, roll, slip and slide tools, audio editing and audio creation, finishing and final output.Students should have the following prerequisite knowledge prior to attending the course:
* Basic knowledge of the Macintosh OS * Basic knowledge of editing terminology is recommended
FCP 101: An Introduction to Final Cut Pro 6

FCP 250: Final Cut Pro for Avid Editors
This two-day hands-on course introduces students to the primary feature set and interface of Final Cut Pro. Using Avid editing terminology and references as stepping stones, this course translates the studentsÕ existing editing talents to the FCP skill set. In this course, students will learn Final Cut Pro editing operations: capturing, sound editing, creating bins and sequences, as well as Final Cut ProÕs extensive effects package, real time color correcting and numerous tips and keyboard shortcuts for everything in between.Students should have the following prerequisite knowledge prior to attending the course:
* Prior knowledge of Avid editing systems
FCP 300: Advanced Editing Techniques in Final Cut Pro
Real-time Editing, Effects and Color CorrectionThis three-day course delivers hard-to-find advanced editing and finishing techniques. Learn how to create polished transitions, fix screen direction errors, edit multi-camera projects, work with nested sequences, create fantastic effects, use filters creatively, color-correct your video, and composite like a pro. This course also covers Soundtrack Pro, managing clips and media, and working with film.
Students should have the following prerequisite knowledge prior to attending the course:
* Level One Final Cut Pro End User certification is required. Ideally, students will have attended a Final Cut Pro 101, 200 or 250 course.
FCS 101: Motion Graphics and Effects in Final Cut Studio
Professional Techniques for Designers and EditorsThis three day hands-on course familiarizes students with real-world effects techniques, including filters, layering, composite modes and animating video, graphics and titles. The practical approach to motion graphics focuses on the features of Final Cut Studio that editors and designers need to create motion graphics in their daily work. Using Motion, Final Cut Pro and LiveType, youÕll build creative titles, motion menus, show bumpers and news opens as you learn everything from text animation, compositing, and keyframing to 3D set creation and camera animation.
Students should have the following prerequisite knowledge prior to attending the course:
* Basic knowledge of the Macintosh OS
* Basic knowledge of Final Cut Pro. Attendance at FCP 100, 101, 200 or 250 is preferred.
* Apple Certified Pro, Level One Final Cut Pro certification is preferred.
Motion 101: A Comprehensive Study of Motion 3
Designing and Animating Motion Graphics in Final Cut StudioThis three-day hands-on course will familiarize students with Motion, AppleÕs revolutionary software for motion graphics design. The course comprehensively covers working with MotionÕs Real-Time Design engine and interface, behavior-based animation, parameter behaviors, blend modes, advanced particle system design, advanced title animation, working with templates, chroma key techniques, masking methods, DVD motion menu design, tablet-driven gesture UI techniques, working with audio, keyframing, and integration. This course is designed for those students who wish to learn the fundamentals and functionality of Motion.
Students should have the following prerequisite knowledge prior to attending the course:

Intro to Electronic Publishing
This hands-on introductory instructor led seminar is designed to provide students with an overview of the electronic publishing workflow. Students will be guided through all aspects of the process, from content creation, design prototyping, document construction and review to prepress set-up, proofing and final output. Emphasis will be placed on understanding entire process rather than focusing on any specific procedure or software package. Programs that will be explored include: Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat and QuarkXPress.Photoshop Fundamentals
This hands-on class serves an introduction to Adobe Photoshop for beginners, enthusiasts and artists making the transistion to digital technology. Emphasis will be placed an fundemental concepts like file formats, pixel dimensions, resolution, preparing files for printing or for use on the web or in email. Students will be given a guided overview of PhotoshopÕs interface and itÕs features. Basic manipulations like color, brightness and contrast will be discussed and students will leave with a better understanding of how this powerful software tool can better serve their imaging needs.Prerequisites: Mac OS X Basics or a general understanding of the Macintosh OS X Operating System.
Photoshop Intermediate
This hands-on class is designed for people with a some basic exposure to Adobe Photoshop who would like to fine-tune their skills or learn more about some of the subtleties of this deep program.
